soft brakes and they keep getting softer 850 1996

is the master cylinder have a vacume assist? i have never looked at my master cylider to see. some cars like GM have a huge vacume cannister behind the master cylinder that the master cylinder mounts to. leaks in this or leaks in the lines cause a soft peddle. Also check your master cylinder and lines for leaks.
