Getting lost in tire selection - help! 850 1996

Hi, I need a replacement tires for 855T. Did research at tirerack.com, but there is just too much information to weed thru.

I'm hoping for recommendation from others for 205/50/16 (original?) or optional
205/55/16. I assume there is no rubbing with 55 size.

I'll have a set of winter tires, but need to have a set of all season that handles 'some/light' snow (live in MA - it can & will snow in April/May). I just want something that's quiet & handles well (doesn't have to be super-duper performance). OE is XGT-something, but pretty bad on the snow, I hear.

I initially selected AVS dB, but heard that after a while, the noise level is very irritation, defeating the purpose of getting the 'dB'.

I'm considering Bridgestone RE950. Any others I should look at?
