99 S80 trans wont shift into 4th gear (can I just replace the trans?) S80 1999

I have a 99 S80 "non turbo" that wont shift into 4th gear.
The OBD II code is P0751 "shift solenoid A stuck off" I cant find a table
that will cross this over to the Volvo Codes.
My question is; Can I replace the trans with out a software download?
I am sure the problem is just a bad solenoid, but I rather put a Volvo exchange trans in and send the car on its way. (fluid is very burnt)
I am sure it is not related to a computer or a software problem.
I have changed lots of 850 Volvo transmissions and never tuched a computer.
