The Engstrom alternative is an attractive one. Then I found even another while surfing around in:

Sorry I don't recall exactly which site but I did have fun looking. Turns out that aluminized steel (rather than stainless) sport systems are available. Another lister just recently posted that he's had no problems with his, on another car, but does mention that he lives in a region where roads aren't salted in winter.

We're talking same dimensions and possibly muffling as the SS exhaust but in the $200 - $300 price range. I'll want to find out more.
