step by step a/c recharge? 850

Dan, it does fit the fitting in the back, but it looks like i might be bringing it into some place for work. I first used a gauge and it registered in the green when i started with a can of 14 oz refrig, oil, and leak stop combo. After 10oz, i checked gauge and it registered in the red! So, i quit, and found no cold air at all. Also, the harness just in back of this fitting near the firewall on passenger side and on the same line has 2 wires, not the 4 you mentioned. So, i'm going to double check tomorrow to just see if i have anything in the front: fitting/harness. i hope i was wrong...i would hate to spend $ at a service place that i could solve myself. thank you for your help.
