my s70 had a terriable thud over even small bumps in the road and at high speed I thought the shock was going to go through the hood and the local mechanic thought the shocks were fine when he check them on the spot after an oil change so I replaced the sway bar links and voila problem solved I even bought an extra pair on the internet because this seems to be a common problem as posted by others on this board and they were almost half of what the dealer wanted to charge me
