Strange door handle behaviour! 850 1993

The door handle on the front passenger door behaves strangely. By that I mean normally it will NOT open if you try to use it in the usual manner. However, if you first pull it out fully and then quickly release it and pull it again, it will open almost 100% of the time.

Anyone ever have a similar phenomenon? Just thought I'd ask first before taking the door apart.
