Upper Engine Mount- questions 850 1996

It was recently been brought to my attention that my upper engine mount has cracked and needs to be replaced. I am debating between having my indy mechanic do it with an OEM replacement, or if I should go ahead and try it do it myself the IPD replacement. I am wondering what people on the board think about this. Some people on the board (I think Dave Spinning Wheel, if he's still out there) really despise the design of the IPD mount, while I think others on the board thought it was either great or at least OK. Opinions, anyone? Also, can the IPD mount *really* be replaced with simple tools? If so, could someone tell me what they are, and how to install the IPD mount?

As usual, thanks in advance for any and all advice.
