Check Engine Light - Code P455 V70-XC70 1998

Evap codes can be caused by a number of things. Common faults, loose gas cap, bad valves in gas cap, evap hose splice near steering rack popped apart, evap valve sticking open. The hose I mentioned comes from a valve on the fan shroud and goes down and accross the front of the subframe, then turns the corner and is riuted to the fuel tank. Just behind the P/S rack, there is a short rubber hose that joins 2 plastic hoses together. Sometimes the hoses come apart. The evap valve attaches to the fan shroud on the drivers side. It has 1 hose going to the intake, and the other hose is the 1 that goes down, across, and back to tank. With the engine running and the wiring conector disconected, there should be no vacuum on the tank side of the valve. If there is, ot's bad. Other causes for evap codes include leaking charcoal canister, stuck rollover valve, bad tank pressure sensor.
