First oil change ever- incredibly, need advice 850 1996

Don't laugh at me, all you Volvo mechanics, but I am going to do my first oil change ever. And I want to ask some really inane, basic questions:

1) When putting the oil drain and crush washer back on, how do you know how tightly to seal them? Is it just something you learn over time, or should I use a torque wrench, which I have no idea how that tool works. I jsut don't want to tighten too much or too little, which I know can lead to bigger problems.

2) For my car, is that oil filter grabber that IPD sells as great as they make it out to be? Or should I use something else?

3) Any other sage advice from you out there who have done a million oil changes in their life?

4) What do people think of that Fram Sure-Drain oil plug gizmo?

I've got the turbo, in case that matters. Thanks everybody!
