Thanks for all the great advice. I have been debating whether or not to do the oil changes myself, since I usually have other (harder) work done by my indy mechanic every 5K anyway. But I think I'll go ahead and try it myself as a confidence building exercise. I think getting some clearance with the rhinoramps will make me feel a little less nervous about getting under my heavy car and poking around. If I conquer this job I'll move on to the turbo return line and a coolant change.
