Cabin air filter fills with water 850 1996

Hello everyone!
I have a 96 855 with the cabin filter kit. Everytime it rains, after driving a while, I get water dripping into the front passenger compartment at the front bulkhead.
It's coming from the fresh air flapper valve and upon looking further I noticed that the cabin filter, when removed and tipped upside down, pours out about one half cup of rain water.
This happens anytime it rains and is becoming frustrating as it creates a lot of condensation in the car.
Everything is stock and I have compared it with other 850's and all the seals are in good shape.
The dealers say this should'nt happen and I agree, which brings me to my question to all of you....short of building baffles to deflect the rain, has someone had the same problem or am I the only one.
Thanks for any help and sorry for the long post.
klaus
