Broken Radio 850 1993

The display you are seeing is "rpt" or repeat. It doesn't like the code. A tape inside shouldn't have any effect on wether it takes the code or not. Take a run down to the dealer and ask them to get the code from Volvo by the rafio serial number. Sometimes these radios comit suicide and simply refuse to accept the code. If all else fails, exchange units are available for somewhere between $150-200, at least at my dealer. But you have to get the same model. If you want to upgrade to an SC 816, you would have to pay a core charge. The core charge is about 3 times the price of the radio.
