Strange Noise S60 2002

Hello everyone.

I recently purchased a 2002 S60 2.4T demo with about 4600 miles on it. Since I've had the car, I've noticed a strange engine noise at very slow speeds (less than 10 MPH). The noise kicks in periodically and only lasts for about five seconds. It's sort of a whooshing/grinding sound that I can only hear with the radio and A/C off. All I can think of is that might be the turbo spinning at low rpm's, or some type of fan kicking in. But it doesn't sound normal The car does not do it at idle or at normal driving speeds. Only during stop and go traffic speed.

Anyone else experiancing anything like this or have any ideas??

Thanks,

taco
