manual transmission problem 850 1997

This is a common mode of manual transmission failure. It is typically due to one of two problems:

. . . years of improper manual transmission drving style--holding on to the shifter for extended periods of time; excessive and inappropriate downshifting without double-clutching; abusive shifting technique; etc.

. . . something that should be checked out first ('cause it's a lot cheaper to fix than rebuilding your transmission), is a possible engine mount failure.
