Tranny fluid: Synth or Regular? 850

I'm planning on changing my Transmission oil soon on my 96 855 T with 75,000 kilometers on it. I was planning on using the procedure outlined on the OZ Brick site. i.e. connecting a clear hose to the top hose from the cooler. My question is: is Synthetic worth the extra $$$? The car is mostly an around town driver, not many long trips. Our winters are cold here, so I'm thinking Synth is the way to go. Any thoughts?
