We own 850 TurboWagon and purchased new tires 30K miles ago (about 1 yr ago).
We live in northern Ohio and wanted good all season performance. Looked at many of the same tires as you seem to be considering. After looking at various store and manufacturers’ web sites and discussing traction in wet and snowy weather with local area shops, we purchased 205/60/15 H speed rated Continental ContiTouring CH95 tires. These are better in weather than the Dunlop 4000 tires that were on the car; and at ~$95 each, much more affordable than most.
The slightly higher aspect ratio (60, not 55) and H, not V, speed rating make for a smoother ride. After I got used to the little different feel of these tires, I found that I could still push a bit when I’m alone. ;) Only a little squealing with hard cornering. I find that tire pressure is also a big factor when it comes to a smoother ride. The recommended 36 front/41 rear for our model can be harsh depending on the road condition compared to the 32-34 front and rear that tire shops seem to use as a default.
Noise is pretty subjective, but I would characterize it as not noticable especially on family trips.
I wasn’t happy with the lack of response that I got from TireRack and got an installed price from my local Continental dealer that was close to the price on their website anyway.
Happy hunting. Hope this helps.
