Heater Core leak

This old beater of a 1984 244GL has the original heater core and it is filming the windshield when the heater control valve is opened. A sure sign of a leaking core.

I will be doing the blower motor/resistor bit soon, as well as, installing the AC system (evaporator, etc.)

Nevertheless, I want to avoid plunking down more than $100 for a new heater core on this 220K miler.

Is there any way of sealing the core without removing it?
