CD Changer Hookup 850 1993

I had to take my radio(sc-810) out to remove a stuck cassette and now I am having a problem reconnecting the cd changer cable. Do the side panels come off and if so how can I remove them. I removed the passenger side cover (the part under the glovebox) and that gave me a little room to work in there but not enough to get the cable plugged in.
