radio cuts out. 850

i swung by the radio shack got hold of a can of TV tuner, its basically an electronics cleaner according to the salesgirl. took the radio out, easy as pie to remove, took off the top cover, sprayed the volume control and surrounding area (overspray) reinstalled it and it works great. it was still scratchy at first but after working the knob a few times its back to its old self.
Unrelated question, does anyone know if the CD version of this radio will "plug and play" in its location, if i was to replace it? I have the AM/FM cassette radio now, i think its SC816.
