POPPING NOISE RIGHT FRONT IN LOW SPEED TURNS V70-XC70 1999

Volvo Compatriots,

A 30k service, Engine Light On(my 3rd one) & popping noise on the front right hand side has been done last week, beside of so many things happened already with this car. The latter one is beginning to annoy me after an unsuccessful 4th visit with the dealer. A noise pop every time I make a sharp low speed turns in either direction esp. when turning into an elevated surface, same when making a tight U turns or just from backing out from my garage just after the rear wheels hit the down slope part.

First, they lubed the steering stops but it didn't help, a failed diagnosis on 2nd visit-none done, the 3rd & 4th they said front link rod is worn out so they ordered and replaced it but the problem still persist. Now they are giving up and wanted me to bring my case against Volvo service rep. on their next visit.

I believe that this has been dicussed here before and I'm just hoping that some of you folks with this experiences might shade some light before me going back to the dealer. This is my 2nd Volvo and supposes to love it but I hate to say that I tend to like to drive more my old faithful 87volvo 240DL w/ 190K miles on it than this troublesome car. Extended warranty is also on mind now to relieve any incoming misery and even a possibilty of just trading it in with reliable Japanese car. Any guidance is very well aprreciated.

Thanks,
Gil C.
