Courtesy lights flickering 850 1996

I know there have been some posts on this, but I can't seem to track them down in the archives. My overhead courtesy lights have started flickering while in the "turn on when someone opens a door" position. If I tap lightly on the entire assembly they will come back on for a bit, but then start flickering again. As both are doing it is is obvious that the switch is either dirty, or starting to go. Any advice on how to do this without spending a lot of $$$ replacing the entire assembly? Or having to take apart half the car?

As always, everyone's advice is greatly appreciated.

Robo Lobo and his typical Volvo (evap replaced, rear main seal replaced, upper engine mount to be replaced, all at 50-60K or thereabouts)
