Query on timing belt/aux failure 850

Hi,

I'm having a little trouble following your story. I'd like to help, but I need to get a few things clear first.

You said the auxilliary TIMING belt failed. Do you simply mean the drive belt failed? If so, are you saying that the failure of the drive belt CAUSED the failure of the timing belt? If that is what you are saying, then I don't see how that is possible. I don't see how a failure of the drive belt could cause the failure of the timing belt, since it is safely behind the timing cover.

If your drive belt had a gouge in it that big, then possibly something was out of alignment, or even warped slightly, which can cause problems not unlike what you experienced.

Please respond.

kevin
