I've been "intimate" with the brackets and pulleys that holds that alternator and it's ONE large bracket with an idler/tensioner pulley (besides the AC compressor and PS pump) so unless something wasn't tightened after replacing an alternator or PS pump (not just a belt, done by simply moving the tensioner (spring tension, no bolts loosened)), nothing else could be "misaligned" by any other possible means.
Unless more than just a serp belt was replaced (like someone replaced an alternator or PS pump) then it'd be almost impossible to really blame that dealer even if that story sounds misleading from here.
