Bumping noise in window when window goes down. HELP 850

i recently came back from vacation and i got in my car and pushed the automatic down window button on the drivers side and the window stopped going down just above the black window seal right before the window disappears. right at that point the window made a knocking sound inside the door. it sounded like something was off track. what could this noise be. thanks.
