Timing Belt 850 1993

You should all have more faith in yourselves! The job isn't really that difficult. The manufactures marks can be difficult to see. When engine lined up, I always make my own marks.

One variation I made after doing an 855 T5 'by the book'(I've done 3 belt changes, T5, 2.5 10v and S70 2.5 in the past 2 years) is to remove the centre nut on the crank pulley, and remove pulley altogether rather than 'feed' the belt out around the crank pulley with the shield removed. Much easier. Air tools help for this!

Book time is just less than 2 hours for this job if I remember correctly. And surely if engine turned over by hand before starting, and marks checked, no damage should occur. I've had to re-set belt when after turning over one of the cams has been out by a tooth. Also worth noting run of serpentine belt, as I've found 2 out of 3, the belts don't take the route the 'book' shows.

So there you have it.
