Don't spend $600 on a cat 850 1996

We had a similar problem with my daughter's Audi. And got a similar quote. So we went to one of the muffler chains and they cut out the old cat, welded in a new one, $175 installed. Drove it straight to the inspection station and passed. (And it's passed the two subsequent years, also.)
