transmission problem at idle 850

After driving around for a while, the transmission on my 850 begins to do something strange when I'm stopped and idling (gearshift still in gear, not parked). It starts to 'jump' repeatedly as if it were trying to keep shifting gears, even though I'm not moving. Once I place it in park, it stops doing this. It seems to operate normally while driving. Any ideas?
