IPD ECU upgrade questions 850 1995

hi,

I'd run a freeflow exhaust as the engine will generate higher temperatures due to the increased boost and needs to expell these quickly. Im sure it wouldn't do too much harm in the beginning but its best to get a performance exhaust as soon as possible. If you go for the likes of an IPD or supersprint exhaust you gonna pay a heck load of money. I used to have the supersprint on my 850R but i soon changed that for a custom made system by poerflow (in the united kingdom) and i totally love it. Just make sure you get mandrel bends and a straight through muffler (perforated tube with sound deadeing around) instead of muffler using baffles to kill sound. I opted for a very small muffler so the car is very loud :) People always look and stare everywhere i go. Just get a well established muffler shop do the custon piping and welding for you. You can also get a universal backbox (a muffler with a tailpipe on to it) so that you can mount this on the back of the car and run custom piping from there to your cat.

hope this helps

jan.
