Timing belt/replacement engine update 850 1996

The Serp belt pulleys themselves simply don't wear gradually on any car (maybe old V belt pulleys wore slightly but that's it). Most cars have the same pulleys for the life of the car, sometimes several hundred thousand miles if maintained that long.
At some point in time, something or someone must have somehow damaged your alt belt pulley, possibly even from someone prying on it for some odd reason?
