Maintenance questions V70-XC70 1998

C. When you bleed your brakes note that the nut is 11mm. If it is on tight use a 11mm socket/ratchet to loosen slightly. Then place the hose over the nipple and turn by hand to release the fluid. When I used an open ended wrench (spanner) on mine, I rounded off the nut because it was so tight.

There are actually special wrenches made just for this purpose. For the life of me right now I can't recall the name (I keep wanting to say "flare", but that's not right.) Nevertheless, I've found that an 11mm box-end wrench works just great. And, if you happen to be luckier than me and have a set of *ratcheting* box-end wrenches, you've got it made.

Incidentally, here in the US "spanner" refers to a specific kind of wrench. Check out http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=41243 for a picture and information.
