My car is still in the shop after breakdown last week S70

My 1998 S70 T5A died last week and it’s been in the shop for almost a week. The dealer tells me there is a plug (similar to a freeze plug on the block) that popped on the intake manifold. They said it’s on the right side of the manifold. They say it’s a 2-hour job to put the plug back in and they are totally booked for 2 weeks and they can't get to it. They have the parts now but they simply can schedule time for me.

Can someone explain what this plug is meant for? I feel I should order some extra ones to keep in the car.
