Michelin Pilot's vs. Contouring Contacts

It looks like it's time to change the tires on my 2000 XC. I was looking for some other people's experiences with Michelin Pilots vs Continental Contouring Contacts. I've been pretty happy with the Continentals, but my snow tires are Pilot Alpins. I've been very impressed with their handling, especially for snow tires. But I've read on Tirerack that the Pilots have poor treadwear. I'd like to hear what others think. Thanks in advance for the help.
