16' winter tire size for 850R 850

I have an 850R wagon, with the 17" wheels. I already own 16" snows, 205/55/16 that came off an Audi. I also own the 16" Turbo wheels. Will these tires work in this size? I had heard that they will not work on an R, but I see others with 850 turbo wagons using them.
