The cable from the motor to the seat back tilt mechanism is bad. Some people have said that they were able to shorten the cable housing and reinstall the cable to fix the problem. I replaced my cable about 6 months ago, and it has worked fine since. Detailed repair instructions are contained at Bay 13.
Just a couple of notes to add to the procedure based upon my recent experience. First, the directions say to cut the hog rings with a pair of diagonal cutters. Either you needed a bigger set of dikes or a bigger forearm than I possess to cut them. I just ended up opening them up with a pair of needle nose pliers and my dikes and then unthreading them. As to the note about gaining full range of motion after installing the new cable, I just ran the motor back a bit before I installed the new cable, and had full range of motion without having to 'bump' the motor after installing the cable. When putting the seat back together again, I used zip ties rather than the hog rings. I saw some reference to it somewhere, and it worked well. I used some short (about 3-inch) ones. They threaded in through the holes left by the hog rings quite nicely. I tucked the ends into the valley in the foam on the seat backs, and cut the ends off on the four along the bottom of the seats. This seemed a lot easier than putting hog rings back in. It will make it easier if I ever need to do the cable replacement again too. Good luck.
