V70 cost U.S. vs Canada V70-XC70

I found this interesting.
Car and Driver August 2002 page 19 in letters to the editor. There was a letter asking about cost differences on a new V70.
Interesting that your discount price on the 02 Volvo V70 was about $40,800. In Canada, our MSRP on the same car is $52,790 Canadian, which is $33,254 U.S.
Hmmm, that means that your Volvo is more than $7500 cheaper up here in Canadaland.
