Thanks Volvospeed ,you saved me 300.00 on timing belt replacement 850

A word on timing belt replacement.

I replaced my timimg belt and accessory belt this last weekend using the instructions from Volvospeed Bay 13 and they are excellent instructions.

It took me about 3-4 hours to do because i really took my time to do it.

The hardest parts were getting the old belt off around the crank pulley and keeping the slack out of the belt before i released the hydraulic tensioner.

I had to get a 30mm socket from Sears for 6.99 and a couple of Torx drivers for 3.99 each, in addition to the IPD tools for the accessory belt.

I used a galvenized finishing nail to pin the hydraulic tensioner.

total Cost:

Volvo OEM Timing Belt 46.00
IPD Accessory belt and tools 56.00
Trip to Sears 14.99
money saved on labor over 300.00
Feeling you get from doing it yourself and the car starts: PRICELESS

Yes its a Bitch!
Yes I have many new cuts on my hands and arms.
But i also have the 300 in my pocket!!!!
