wrong passenger seat S40-V40 2000

I just bought a 2000 V40 and am pleased with all the amenities and the overall fit and finish. There is one puzzling shortfall, though; the passenger front seat does not jibe with what is described in the user manual. Whereas the manual depicts the conventional hand lever for quick recline/incline of the seat, our seat has a cumbersome wheel that must be slowly cranked to get the seat to a comfortable position for sleeping, and back again for regular "passenger-ing". They heated the seat and gave it lumbar support, but stopped there apparently. This omission is surprising given that my '90 Sentra, which is so bereft of creature comfort that it lacks a cupholder, has a quick release lever for such a purpose. Has anyone heard of Volvo putting in the wrong seat, and, if so, do I have any recourse?
The car has 10,000 miles on it and so is within the 4yr./50,000-mile warranty period.
