Back Brakes S70 2000

As you can see I have a 2000, S70 Volvo. I bought the car used and have a question about the back brakes. I am currently in Germany and went out to get an extended warrenty for a couple of years to cover the rest of the time I will be here. The guy giving me the warrenty came out and looked the car over and made a comment about my back brakes being bad. He said that they were grooved and I needed to get them changed. I asked him about just getting them turned instead of replaced and he said it was a bad idea. (I'm sure he was just wanting to get money out of me.) Because of this, though, I am thinking of getting the vented brakes (holes, or slotted)for the back. What do you all think? Good or bad idea? If good, where to go to get some of these discs at a good price?
