computer not resetting after check engine light reset S70

I'm having difficulty getting my car through the DEQ test here in Oregon. After my mechanic reset the check engine light which was on due to a gross leak in the evaporative system, the OBDII system is not "ready" and hence the car fails. I understand that a "trip" has to be taken before the computer will reset. I've driven the car approximately 300 miles under various conditions and it still hasn't reset. I've had the car on the dyno and 3 trip cycles performed and still nothing. If anyone out there has had similar problems I would really appreciate it if you could help.

Thanks in advance
