Does your gas mileage stink read below!

I been looking at the wife's 93 with 99k decrease its mileage on the city from 20 miles/gallon to until last week 16.5. She drives car the same route everyday, and I went through the whole car checking cap, rotor, plugs, and codes. The only symptoms where that of a slight but slugish acceleration and when coasting it would back dawn real fast. I took one of those vacuum pumps and started to check the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR for a good seal. The first time it held the vacuum ok for 2 minutes but the 2nd time I got a whole bunch of gas. I went an install a new one and let tell you the difference the car moves like a rabbit and the mileage for this week is up to 22. I never expected this to make such a difference and the car rides better than when we bought it on 98 with 72k and lets me to believe that this part was already starting to fail when we bought the car.

I also bought the seal for the gas tank pump and plan on replacing the pump filter/sock and make sure everything is tight in there!
