'95 850 Trouble Code A1= 213? 850

The check engine light and flashing up arrow came on yesterday. I was receiving a trouble code 213 from connection A1 (Transmission) and no codes (111) from connection A2. I couldn't clear the 213 and did the ratchet cleaning as described on Bay 13. It still wouldn't clear but after numerous cranks the flashing arrow disappeared. I took it out and drove it hard and then was able to reset the 213 in A2. No codes or flashing arrows now, but I am hearing a slight scraping sound on start-up.

What is a 213 (A2) fault? Any correlation to the scraping sound? What should I check next?

On a humorous note this was my wife's car that I started driving several months ago. The warning lights came on when she happened to need the 850. Do you think it likes me better ;)
