What is up with my foglight bulbs? S70 2000

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the foglight connectors. If any part of the electrical contacts corrode, the result is increased heat and eventually the bulbs run hot and burn out. The connectors would be hot to the touch after a few minutes of operation. On one side, the connector halves melted slightly. Solved the problem by replacing the connecting parts (I ordered the gray connectors with 1' of the correctly colored wire, I also replaced the bulb insert at the back of the foglight). Before connecting, I coated the contacts with Tri-Flo. IPD di-electric grease would do just as well as a corrosion preventive.

I wired my foglights so I can use them as DRLs...with the headlights OFF. I use them all the time, and there's no heat at the connectors anymore...and haven't changed the foglight bulbs in a year.
