New v70's V70-XC70

Well where do I start? I bought my 2002 V70 in February and I have been in love ever since. This is my first Volvo and I hope that I fortunate enough to be able to afford another Volvo when this one is ready to be replaced.

What do I like about my V70? It's versatility and fuel economy, I traded in my 2001 Eddie Bauer Explorer 4 x 4 to buy my V70 and I have hauled all of the same things in my V70 that I did in my gas sucking Explorer. I averaged 15.5 mpg with the Explorer (city/hwy) and I'm averaging 28 mpg (city/hwy) with the V70. so, I'm very happy with the fuel economy. In fact, on a recent 1200 mile trip I averaged 32.689 m.p.g with an average speed of 70 mph. also,I'm always at Home Depot buying something for the house and my V70 has yet to disappoint me with it's large cargo carrying capacity, Just fold the rear seats down and away you go!

But I also am very enamored with the styling on the V70. I think it simply is the most elegant station wagon out there.

Comfort ! comfort ! comfort! the V70 has the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. I drove the V70 for a 10 hour period (600 miles) only stopping once for gas and lunch and I did'nt have the usual lower back ache that I always experience when I drive for prolonged periods of time.

Great engine ! I have the 168 hp ( base, non-turbo) 2.4 and It just seems that there is more than 168 Hp at my command. It doesn't feel like I'm driving a slug even though it's a measley 168 hp. I didn't buy the turbo because I have concerns about long term durability but, I can only imagine how much fun the high pressure (247 hp) V70 is to drive.

so, these are just a few of the reasons why I like my V70. I am hopeful that all of the early bugs/glitches that were found in the 98-2001 V70 have been corrected in my 2002 and that this will be a durable and reliable car, like many of the previous Volvo models. only time will tell.......
