Adding a CD player to a 2002 S 40 S40-V40

Since you are just replacing the stock stereo with a CD player I would suggest ordering the system from Crutchfield.com. They will send you all the parts you need including wiring harnesses and they will supply you with instructions on how to install it. This would be a good project for you and your son to do on the weekend. In my experience, there really isn't anyone out there who can work on Volvo car stereo's. You can take it to a place like Tweeter or something like that and get them to install it but chances are they have never worked on an S40. Where do you live?

I definitely wouldn't take it to best buy or circuit city though. Their installation people aren't very good. I have had to redo 4 of my friends stereo's because the installation people who put theirs in didn't know what they were doing.
