burning oil 850 1997

Hi Dave

Dont worry about the oil. As long as you dont have any visible spills on the groud or on your motor you should be fine.

I have a 96 850 Wagon (NON Turbo) and i need 1 qt or so oil every 2500 or so miles. I use Mobil 1 5w-30 so the oil gets changed every 5000 miles but i need to add some oil after 2500 to 3000 miles.

I was freaked out at first thinking i had bought an oil burner but not so. When i posted the same message for my Volvo everyone who owned a non turbo 850 told me it was NORMAL for the cars to burn some oil. It is what they called the "nature of the beast!!!" dont worry just be regular in checking the oil periodically.
