Door sill plate removal 850

I have a 97 850 R. It has what appear to be stainless steel door sill plates with "850" and some lines indented into the sill plate. I want to paint the indented areas to highlight the design, but I first want to pull the sill plates and clean them up.

How do you pull the door sill plates on this car? Is there a spring clip or are they glued in place? If they are glued, can they be removed and reinstalled without destroying them?

Thanks
