Oil Pick-up O-ring Replacement 850 1993

If in doubt about your lifter noise, check or have your oil pressure checked first. If it's lower than specs, begin with removing the oil pan and replacing the filter o-rings between the pan and block and remove the sump and replace its o-ring too.
I've asked tech support people on this myself and no one at VCNA has heard of "bad lifters" with any white engine so far, it's always been due to low oil pressure and "usually" o-rings in the pan area.
Some might say that you can somehow wrestle the oil pan out without dropping the subframe but if it's possible that way, it won't be easy nor would I suggest trying, the sump tube is in the way and the pan must clear it. I lower the subframe with the car on a hoist, could be done in a garage too but would be trickier and the engine must be supported from above or it'll lower with the subframe.
