continuing A/C problems - update/result 850 1995

Greetings,

Turns out the AC compressor HAD completely seized. This was replaced and the system re-gassed and the garage told me it was fixed...

The following day I went to pick it up - while testing it (before leaving the garage) I found it was *slightly* cold but nothing like the usual frosty cold so complained and they put it back in the shop for further testing.

It turns out there were metal fragments from the old compressor that were now lodged in a filter inside the pipe just before entering the cabin. This was replaced and the pipes cleaned and all is now well. The garage claimed it was frosty cold the previous day but my extended (10 minutes !) testing had thrown all the loose metal fragments around - slopply cleaning & testing by them more like !!!

Won't be going there again.

Regards.

PitBull.
