Flame trap and associated hoses 850 1993

My sister gave me her 1993 850. I noticed it was a little low on oil and at
a stand still you could smell and see oil burning off the engine. I took the flame trap apart and noticed massive gunk. When I tried to take it out it started to fall apart. Also when I tried to pull the little hose off, the the plastic housing broke. Will a flame trap kit give me all the parts I need to fix the problem. I don't have a manual for the car yet so any advice will be helpful. Also... The big hose that runs down if front of the engine is completely wasted. Where does this connect to after it goes out of sight.
Ive been driving my trusty 240 for 10-1/2 years now its time to update to this 850. Also I have a question on the rear shocks. How can you tell if they are regular shocks or Nivomats. If they are Nivomats can you replace them with regular shocks. The prices on the nivomats are out of control.
Any help on this 850 would be appreciated.
Thanks Jack W
